Hi everyone!
I want to introduce you to Saurav, one of the reasons Pollinate Energy in Kolkata is where it is today. Since pretty much day 1 Saurav has been with us helping us start up the city and finding a Hive, then participating as a Fellow on our first Fellowship, then joining us as Pollinator / trainer, and now promoted to Assistant Operations / Sales Manager. All this at only 18 years old!
What a guy eh? And that's not even the beginning of it. Saurav is really passionate about helping the poor, and on top of his work at Pollinate he volunteers at different social education organisations, giving lessons to less privileged kids of Kolkata. He believes that it is through education that people will be able to break the cycle and get out of poverty. He also believes that unfortunately, the education system in India is broken.
That's the reason why he wants to go study abroad, to learn a different type of education, from the best. Saurav has been granted admission to study at Quest University Canada, along with a $20,000 grant. However, he also has to show proof that he has shored up enough money to handle his expenses, school and otherwise, when he gets to Canada, which amounts for another $20,000.
Talent is universal, opportunity and resources are not. Here's the link to his fundraising campaign: watch his video below, and help Saurav achieve his dreams!

Durga Puja pandals
As I explained last time, pretty much the whole month of October was dedicated to preparing and then enjoying Durga Puja. I took a picture of all the cool pandals (crazy bamboo structures that host the Durga idols and that are all over the city), while we went Pandal hopping. The first and second ones were obviously my favourite, hobbit and hive themed!
Crazy Africa themed one
Made entirely of coconuts shells!
Coconut shell one from the outside
Yes, that's a pandal, and there's an idol inside!
